Individual Sessions

I love the focused, efficient and organic nature of working with individual clients. Individual protocols allow for complete customization, the ability to address whatever surfaces, feedback driven adjustments and optimal outcomes.

This consultation is an opportunity to:

  • Answer client questions
  • Assess whether a hypnosis protocol makes sense for the client
  • Discuss the type of protocol typically used to address client’s presenting issue(s) 
  • Discuss current fees for service and practice procedures
  • Schedule initial hypnosession

CONSULTATION

Core Protocol is the term used to describe the nature & number of sessions recommended to best address the client’s main concern. The Core Protocol is established at the Initial Hypnosession.
  • Number of Sessions: Core Protocols are typically comprised of 3 to 6 hypnosessions 
  • Duration of Session: Expect the Initial Hypnosession to last approx 120 minutes. Successive Hypnosessions last 75—90 minutes. *Extended sessions may be arranged upon request

CORE PROTOCOL

Regardless of the length of the Core Protocol, the third hypnosession will be designated as the Benchmark Session. During the Benchmark Session, we assess progress and make a coordinated decision moving forward regarding the potential benefit of further sessions. This is a fluid process of assessment and reassessment which sometimes offers up surprising results: occasionally client concerns are resolved earlier than anticipated; and sometimes a detour emerges that needs to be addressed before work can resume on the initial concerns.

BENCHMARK SESSION

There are certain circumstances in which a client may want to dedicate more time to a larger issue or a prolonged situation (cancer treatment, lengthy preparation for an athletic / professional / academic / personal event). Customized Intensive Protocols are also available as a means of addressing extended or multiple client concerns. An Intensive Protocol consists of six or more 2 hour hypnosessions. It is an investment that can offer excellent results.

While hypnosis is more art than science, there is a consistency to my approach — both within each session and throughout the protocol. From the first session to the last, this integrative approach to change brings about confidence, resilience, and lasting results.

What's a session like?

Client Session Structure: 

This work is both client & content driven. At the beginning of each session, we work together to clarify the client’s vision answering the question 'how do I want things to be different.' Once we know where we’re headed, we immediately begin creating new ways to get there.

There are dozens of practical tools we can choose from that have been proven to be effective for our purposes — that of interrupting unhelpful patterns. Some techniques will feel familiar — diaphragmatic breathing, for example — and many will be brand new. Clients are introduced to several techniques each session and are invited to test them out afterwards, paying attention to what works best for them. Clients are equipped with a variety of ways to relax the body & mind, neutralize triggers, redirect cravings, release anxious energy, calm the nervous system and refocus attention on the desired outcome — all the while creating new neural pathways. {Library of techniques is always growing — drawn from practical neuroscience, NLP, meditation, sleep science, acupressure, mind—body medicine, polyvagal theory, resilience studies and the science of emotions}
Hypnotic relaxation therapy has been proven to accelerate, amplify and solidify a person’s desired change. People also report access to surprising insights, key realizations as well as a vivid ‘felt’ sense of the change they desire during this portion of the session. During the hypnotic experience, we may use guided visualization, mental rehearsal, metaphor, story, and music to establish what the client wants. Hypnosis, like the whole process, is incredibly flexible.
Initially, the guided hypnosis portion of the session is built upon the understructure of our self—hypnosis template. Clients are encouraged to use this quick & easy template at any time for self—directed change.
We will take a moment at the end of the session to review the implementation of any practical tools, self hypnosis techniques or issue—specific commitments the client has made to themselves. All in service of incremental movement toward their desired outcome.
Clients tend to walk away with a felt sense that they are moving in the right direction on a path of their choosing. Because they are equipped with a collection of reinforcement techniques, they are often confident, optimistic and even more curious about what is possible. Clients receive a post—session email outlining the rapid relief tools that were practiced during the session.

CLIENT PORTAL

All individual and Small Group Workshop clients gain membership access to the client portal of this website. The client portal contains the growing catalog of rapid—change techniques, the self hypnosis template, specific protocols (sleep, stress), uploaded recordings and a feedback form.
