Most people who find their way to my practice have all kinds of questions. Of course, I’m here to share what I know about the benefits of hypnosis, and to spread the word about the secret weapon that is our subconscious mind.
What's refreshing about this work is that it's your expertise in you that is the most important piece — the way you ask and answer your own questions. How do I want my life to be different? How exactly does that look and feel? What else is possible?
If you are someone who is struggling, who is ready for change, I welcome you to a process and a practice that can help.
“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”
— Albert Einstein
Your answer to this question becomes the guiding aspect of our work together. Why not start envisioning it now? How does this change look, feel & sound? How will you know you’ve been successful?
Honestly, if you asked me a decade or so ago, I may have raised an eyebrow and shared a healthy skepticism about hypnosis — I had no real idea what it was or how it worked. Everything changed once a friend raved about her family’s experience with hypnosis. Hypnosis helped her teen daughter establish a healthier relationship with food and subsequently helped my friend spark all kinds of changes to her own health, career and relationships. My analytical friend’s opinion piqued my interest and I became very curious.
So, I booked a package with the same hypnotist ostensibly to help with mindless eating, but I really think I just wanted to learn more. The experience was mind blowing, literally. I was shown the power of my own mind to change a specific behavior, it felt amazing and was incredibly effective. A few years later, turning 50 and facing an empty nest, I revisited the process with another provider and learned that hypnosis had broader application than I’d previously realized. I gained clarity, strength and optimism in a time of transition. I was invited to certify as a hypnosis practitioner, continued on to Board Certification and eventually my own practice.
I now consider myself an ambassador for hypnosis. So, whether you are wrestling with a very specific issue or something broader, I’ve been where you are. And I’ve created a welcoming space for anyone who is curious to learn how hypnosis might help them feel better, healthier and happier. I’d be honored to work with you.
I aspire to move through the world with compassion, integrity, kindness and humility. I actively cultivate a curious mind and a generous heart so that I may continue to learn and grow even in the face of challenge and uncertainty. I strive to meet all with unconditional positive regard, mutual respect, a sense of levity, and an open mind.
CORE VALUES
My goal is for each client to recognize a shift towards increased health and wellbeing that inspires meaningful, lasting change. I have an attentive ear, an open mind, a sympathetic heart and an intuitive ability to understand the ideas and feelings of others.
APPROACH
"Dee is one of the most gentle and highly trained people I have worked with. She helped me to discover some hidden underlying issues that had been affecting my relationships. She is very clear as she guides us through our journeys! I highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in hypnosis and ready to discover more about their unconscious mind!"
I am a lifelong resident of the DC area. At the College of William and Mary, I studied philosophy and psychology fueling an ongoing curiosity about life’s big questions and the brains that ask them. After college, I moved to DC and worked in television distribution.
Marriage and children brought me to Arlington, VA kicking off a period of years spent outside the traditional workforce while the children were young. That time solidified a unique level of civic engagement and connection which remain a priority to this day. Broc and I have embraced our empty nest, and this phase of life with friends, family, travel and new pursuits.
